A recent Pappu Yadav scuffle at the Independent MP’s Delhi residence has ignited controversy, as one of the two detained individuals vehemently denies allegations of assault and carrying a weapon. “We simply intended to engage in a dialogue,” the man, whose identity was not immediately released, stated with conviction. “Our purpose was to convey to Pappu Yadav ji the profound offense caused by his continued disparagement of Lord Ram and other sacred figures. We implored him to cease such provocative propaganda.” His account paints a picture of a peaceful confrontation, starkly contrasting the MP’s assertions of a violent attack.
The detainee further elaborated on their motivations, emphasizing, “He insults our Lord Ram. He portrays him in an undignified manner. He disrespects our revered saints and spiritual leaders. This insult, this blatant disrespect, will simply not be tolerated by the youth.” He stressed their resolve to undertake “whatever is necessary” to uphold their beliefs, though he maintained their actions were non-violent.
Accompanying him was Sumit Giri Goswami from Sehpani village, confirming only two individuals were involved in the encounter.

The most contentious point remains the allegation of a knife. The man categorically dismissed this, highlighting rigorous security checks upon entry. “We underwent thorough screening before stepping inside; thus, bringing in a knife was impossible,” he insisted. “Everything unfolded openly, broadcast live before journalists. There was no knife, no weapon whatsoever. These claims, he alleges, are merely attempts to falsely implicate them.”
Moreover, he countered the narrative of aggression, suggesting that a video of the incident shows “Pappu Yadav had him surrounded in the lane and was holding him. Somewhere, there was an attempt to assault us.”
The dramatic incident erupted during a press conference at Yadav’s Delhi home on Sunday. An argument escalated when the two men publicly accused the MP of insulting Sanatan Dharma, an integral aspect of Hinduism. Supporters of Yadav claim one of the men attempted to throw a slipper, initiating the physical altercation. Delhi Police swiftly intervened, taking both individuals into custody.
