Uttar Pradesh has embarked on a groundbreaking initiative, the Digi Rover Drive, launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This ambitious campaign, running from July 1 to August 15, seeks to revolutionize land measurement across the state, promising unprecedented accuracy and transparency in resolving a colossal backlog of cases.
From the historic city of Saharanpur, CM Adityanath flagged off this monumental statewide effort. It marks a significant pivot towards technology-driven revenue administration, aiming to tackle the 79,157 pending land measurement and demarcation cases that have long plagued the region.
Revolutionizing Land Measurement with the Digi Rover Drive
For generations, land surveys in Uttar Pradesh have relied on age-old, often imprecise methods. The resulting disputes have been a perennial source of contention, causing immense hardship to farmers and property owners alike. However, the introduction of modern Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology through the Digi Rover Drive promises to consign these problems to history.
The Chief Minister emphasized that this initiative is a core component of his government’s broader commitment to efficient, transparent, and technology-enabled governance. The benefits are manifold: GNSS technology assures significantly more accurate and reliable measurements, drastically reduces errors, and injects much-needed transparency into the demarcation process. This ultimately leads to fewer land disputes and swifter delivery of essential revenue services to the citizenry.
Integrating advanced technology into this crucial administrative function represents a decisive leap towards enhancing accountability and streamlining operations. The government’s objective isn’t merely to clear the existing pile of pending cases; it aims to forge a robust, technology-driven framework that prevents future disputes from escalating.
Mission-Mode Implementation and Oversight
CM Adityanath has issued stern directives to all divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and revenue officials: implement the Digi Rover Drive with utmost seriousness, transparency, and a mission-oriented approach. Every eligible citizen, he stressed, must benefit from this campaign within the stipulated timeframe, with all measurements adhering strictly to technical standards and resolved with impeccable quality and accuracy.
To ensure the campaign’s success, the Board of Revenue has disseminated comprehensive operational guidelines to every district. High-level supervision will be spearheaded by Archana Agrawal, Chairperson of the Board of Revenue, with continuous reviews and necessary directions provided by the Commissioner and Secretary. This coordinated effort, involving officials from Lekhpals to District Magistrates, aims to maximize the disposal of cases, safeguarding farmers’ land rights and fortifying the technological bedrock of revenue administration in the state.
