According to reports from The Times of India, Deuri, originally from Magura district, resided in a shared apartment in Dhaka. His sister, Jaya, informed Bdnews24 of a terrifying 1 AM call wherein an unidentified man brazenly demanded 30,000 Bangladeshi Taka. The abductors even provided a bank account number for the transfer. A partial payment of 26,000 Bangladeshi Taka was eventually made, after which Deuri was callously abandoned on a city street.
