Bihar Man Scales 300-Foot Mobile Tower in ‘Sholay’ Style Stunt for Girlfriend
Muzaffarpur, India – A high-stakes drama unfolded on Wednesday near the southern gate of Muzaffarpur Junction as a young man ascended a towering 300-foot mobile communication structure, demanding a meeting with his girlfriend. The incident quickly drew a massive crowd, creating a public spectacle reminiscent of the iconic Bollywood film ‘Sholay’, where Dharmendra’s character famously climbed a water tank for love.
The individual, identified as Anish Kumar, remained precariously perched on the immense height for several hours, captivating anxious onlookers below. People gathered around the spot, watching with concern and curiosity as the tense situation developed around Anish’s singular demand to see his beloved.
Reports indicate that Anish had recently returned to his hometown from Pune, where he had been employed at a tile shop, approximately a month prior. He was slated to depart for Pune once more on Tuesday evening but instead chose the drastic action of scaling the mobile tower the following morning, turning his personal plea into a gripping public drama.
This dramatic form of protest echoes a similar incident reported recently in Uttar Pradesh, highlighting a peculiar trend of individuals taking to great heights for matters of the heart. In the UP incident, a 23-year-old man named Raju Pal climbed a mobile tower in Kachhiyani Khera village, demanding permission to marry his maternal cousin, allegedly threatening to jump if his eight-year-long desire was not fulfilled. Authorities in that case managed to engage him in conversation and bring him down safely for counselling.
